Bruce Barlean

Bruce Barlean is a seasoned entrepreneur with a legacy of building successful, values-driven businesses. In the late 1980s, Bruce and his parents, Dave and Barb Barlean, saw an opportunity to improve people’s health through flax oil supplementation. What started as a small family operation in 1989 grew into Barlean’s Organic Oils, one of America’s most trusted natural health brands and has won over 100 Awards, including multiple VITY Awards, Manufacturer of the Year, #1 Health Food Store Brand for Consumer Satisfaction, Gold Medal American Masters of Taste, Bastyr University Mission Award for leadership in health and well-being and earned recognition as America’s #1 flaxseed oil.

Alongside his commercial success, Bruce has quietly and consistently invested in philanthropy, funding causes that uplift lives and communities.

Despite his successful story, Bruce spent many of his younger years searching for happiness the hard way—Givingism is what he found when he finally got it right. Givingism is a philosophy built on one idea: create an environment where everyone wins, and you win too. He’s driven to make the world a better place, and Givingism is the outcome of a lifetime spent trying to figure out how.

Today, Bruce is also an author and TEDx speaker, sharing the Givingism principles with everyone he can! He is extremely grateful for all his successes and the freedom to follow his passions: spending time with his wife Lisa, family and friends, and fishing as much as possible!
